Communications Systems are a primary objective for the operation of our drone. This week we focused on communication development in order to forward our progression on this project. The communication system was split into two parts (Transmission and Reception) to optimize workflow. Vincent will be working on the development of Transmission subsystems and I will be working on Reception modules. To be more specific, we will need to start with input characteristics and an input interpreter for transmitting signals. This will be done via MATLAB due to our familiarity with its capabilities. We also took into consideration whether we would be using a controller or keyboard and mouse for ground controls, or if the drone would be autonomous ( with predetermined flight plans ). Upon reception of transmitted signals the drone should have received “drone ready” instructions that it can use to adjust voltage input values. We now have to figure out how ESCs and motors will use those instructions due to a lack of documentation.
