Howdy fellas, welcome to our little blog for our undecided drone project. The goal of this project is to make something fly, whether it be fixed-wing flight or by rotors. I have brought this weak-sounding proposal to some of my friends here at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, of these friends, only three had shared my same desire to build something ASAP: Kris Darrin, Matthew Pierce, and Logan Sankhagowit.

We will be using processes learned within our Space Systems Engineering course to carry out this project. This method mainly consists of researching individual subsystems, then creating a proposal report for this drone before final design decisions are made. Other than the conceptual side of the project, we will be applying what we have learned in all of our courses to make this thing happen, particularly, we will be applying our skills in microcontrollers, wiring, dynamics, and more.

Our optimal launch date will be August 18th, 2023, two weeks before our Fall semester begins, so that we will not have to think about this project during the semester. However, this date is flexible, as some of us are taking Summer courses and may not have as much time to contribute. Until our final launch, updates on this project may be found here, aiming for a weekly schedule.

That’s it for now, see you next time, folks!
